My Metamorphosis

The face is divided between youth and age, bringing together two versions of ourselves that are not separate, but deeply connected. Through the changing flowers and trees, I wanted to capture the seasons of a life — the fragile blossoms of spring representing youth, hope and new beginnings, and the winter tree representing age, wisdom and the quiet beauty of having lived.
We live in a society that often celebrates youth while teaching us to fear the signs of ageing. I wanted to challenge that idea and find beauty in the natural process of growing older. None of us remain the person we once were. We carry our younger selves with us — in our memories, experiences, scars, joys and dreams — and these layers become part of who we are becoming.
Trees symbolise our evolution from one time of life to another, while the heart serves as a metaphor for the ongoing internal transformation we all undergo.
